Mrs. Jennifer Corbett
Kindergarten Teacher
About The Teacher
Welcome to Kindergarten. My name is Jennifer Corbett.

I grew up in the Bay Area.  After I had my first child we moved to Tracy where we lived for 25 years.  All 4 of my children attended St. Bernard Catholic School in Tracy.  They then all attended St. Mary’s high school. We moved to Stockton 4 years ago when my younger children were still attending St. Mary’s. I have been the Director of St. Luke Preschool for the past 6 and half years.  I love Catholic education. I have been blessed to be working with young children for nearly 30 years.  Although I love our preschool, I am excited to step out of my management role and go back to my first love teaching!

Prior to working at St. Luke Preschool I was working in Tracy.  I was a Director and Site supervisor of 4 preschools simultaneously managing 30 employees for 8 years.  After that I decided to take a step back so I could spend more time with family.  I then became a long and short term substitute for St. Bernard’s School grades K-6 in Tracy as well as long and short term substitute for Tracy unified school district grades K-4.

I attended California State University Sacramento where I earned my BA in Child Development. I received a single subject teaching credential from the CTC.  I also received a Vocational Teaching credential from the CTC to teach Child Care and Child Development at the high school and college level. I started my Vocational credential process while working at a preschool in Tracy.  I was taking classes in the evenings and on weekends, during this time I was offered the opportunity to Teach Child development in the R.O.P. for Tracy high school . I have had many opportunities in my life to further my education.  All roads lead back to Early Childhood education.  While having all 4 young children with many activities it was a hectic time, but well worth the reward.  As you will find out I love to keep busy!  I am also a lifelong learner, always ready to help children be the best they can be.

I have taught first communion preparation at St. Bernard for 6 years and Confirmation preparation for 8 years. I have my catechist certificate.  I am excited to play a role in shaping the attitudes and values that will influence my students throughout their education and spirituality. I just love teaching children all about Jesus!

I love cooking, reading and spending time with my family.  I am excited to begin a new chapter in Kindergarten.  I am looking forward to working with students, parents, and staff this coming year.
