About The Teacher
Welcome to 4th grade. I am Marianne Carido, and there are many things I would like you to know about me. I am a graduate of the University of the Pacific where I received a Bachelor of Music degree and California Teaching Credential, specializing in Elementary Education.

After my first teaching assignment in Walnut Grove and Courtland, I moved to Long Beach and taught for the Cypress School District. After my daughter Kristin was born, we moved back to the Stockton area. I returned to teaching 2nd grade at St. Luke's. I "retired" after second daughter Karin was born. During this time I volunteered in a preschool, worked as an aide, and substituted in grades K-8. When Karin was ready to start school, I returned to teach 2nd grade at St. Luke's, then moved to 4th. I love to work with children and see their eyes light up with excitement when they learn something new or master a skill.

My family is such an important part of my life. I am very proud of my daughters, Kristin and Karin, who graduated from the University of Pacific and are now working!!! Kristin lives here in Stockton with her son Trey, and Karin is currently living in Hawaii. I love going to visit! I also love having my grandson living so close and being able to do things with both him and his mom.

I look forward to working with your child this year. I think it is going to be very exciting and interesting. I love helping my students become the very best learners that they can be. I expect my students to TRY. None of us learn anything the first time we see it, hear it, or try it. Students indicate their willingness to TRY by paying attention, completing assignments, asking questions, and being in class ready to learn with supplies.

I believe that learning is a life long experience. I plan to create a love for learning—to develop my students' reading, writing, and math skills to his/her fullest potential while creating a safe learning environment where my students can flourish academically as well as socially.
